Bachelor of Graphic Design final Exhibition
Expression of freedom and madness. An art direction inspired by David Carson’s work and glitch aesthetics.
REKA is a final year exhibition hosted by the final year of Degree of Graphic Design students in my university. With each different student batch, we would adopt a different generation event sub name. Thus in my generation’s case, we have chosen Myriad as our sub name.
Next, we had to decide on the event’s branding theme. As one of our head designer was an enthusiast of messy collage aesthetics, we have decided to use it as the foundation of our designs. As a result, the event featured paper collage combined with gritty texture as its branding design.
For this event, I took part in mostly making the students’ major introduction videos as well as some short animation loops. It was an experimental period for me, as it made me defy the conventional wisdom of design such as minimalism, readability etc. Here are some of my works related to the event.
